Death Books: A Review

I’m basically obsessed with the YouTube channel, Ask A Mortician. It’s run by mortician, Caitlin Doughty. Caitlin has a realistic (and quirky) approach to the topic of death. Her channel is almost 500k subscribers on YouTube, so I know I’m not alone in my love of her and what she shares.

Along with her YouTube channel, Caitlin Doughty currently has two books she has written. Smoke Gets in Your Eyes: And Other Lessons from the Crematory and From Here to Eternity: Traveling the World to Find the Good Death.

I read both of these books and loved them!! Here is my review:

Reaching Goals & Freaking Out

When we set goals, we can only assume that we will be thrilled and happy when we achieve said goals.

But what happens when we set a goal, start to see that goal manifest into our lives…and then freak out about it??

In this episode, we talk about that “freak out moment” that a lot of us experience when we see our goals becoming a reality. It’s in this moment that we can keep going, or we can succumb to the freak out and sabotage our goals.

Check out the video below (or find the audio over on The Goddess Life Podcast) and see how you can use that freak out energy to continue to propel yourself forward.

In episode 31 of The Goddess Life Podcast, we’re discussing this very topic. How to incorporate sacred moments throughout our day, in an easy but powerful way. Whether washing the dishes, taking a walk or taking a shower, you can experience some beautiful sacred energy.

Mermaids with Lalantia

Mermaids, are they real? For a long time I always thought they were a nice story but I wasn’t quite sure if I believed in the legitimacy of them. Eventually I did open my mind to the concept of mermaids and other mystical beings.

Mermaids have quite a lot to teach us and share with us. I was really excited to interview Lalantia (Candace) for The Goddess Life Podcast, as she is a magical facilitator who connects regularly to mermaids and other beings.

line

Lalantia has a wealth of knowledge on the topic, and in this episode we discuss things such as:

-How Lalantia (Candace) grew up in a strict religious household and how it wasn’t until she was an adult that she broke through the walls that had been built up to tap into magic.

-How to raise your vibration to connect to mermaids and other magical beings.

-How mermaids (and ourselves) are connected to Atlantis.

-Using seashells, crystals and water to connect to and communicate with the mermaids.

-Hear a channeled message from the mermaids.

-How mermaid energy can help us release shame and embrace our sensuality.

-How to bond with the mermaids.

-Learn about different types of mermaids and what they might look like.

-Hear my own personal experience with a mermaid.

-Learn how to journey and work with Lalantia to connect to your own magical beings.

Lalantia is a Psychic Realm Channeler who taps into realms normally beyond our reach and accesses guidance, support and healing from Dragons, Mermaids, Unicorns, Faeries and other Beings of Myth and Magic. You can connect with Lalantia in her Facebook group: Sorceress Circle, on her website www.Lalantia.com and on Intagram @LalantiaMakana

Emotional Release Oil Blend

Essential oils are excellent at helping us with a myriad of emotional needs. That’s because our sense of smell is connected right to our limbic system of the brain.

The limbic system is responsible for memory, emotions, behavior and learning.

So when you smell an essential oil, it’s literally affecting the part of your brain that’s responsible for your feelings.

This then triggers your body to release specific chemicals and endorphins related to that particular feeling.

Scientists have even found that various parts of our brains become more active depending on which scents we’re smelling.

So this means that we can actually help our brains and bodies release various emotions and even reprogram our brains accordingly!

It’s all pretty cool if you ask me!

I’ve been working on releasing some emotions and came up with this blend to use. I suggest using this blend (or any oils) for emotional release, paired with some affirmations.

In a 5mL roller bottle mix:

11 drops Ylang Ylang

5 drops Cypress

3 drops Lime

2 drops Geranium

1 drop Siberian Fir

Optional: add rose quartz chips and rose petals

Why these oils?

  • Ylang Ylang helps with releasing emotional blocks and boosts confidence
  • Cypress helps you to release the judgments others have placed on you while assisting you with change, trust and patience
  • Lime helps you to work through your feelings while providing you with inner peace
  • Geranium is a very soothing and comforting Oil
  • Siberian Fir helps to ground your energy and provide you with strength

End of Year Business Tarot Spread

I adore the end of the year! It’s such a great time to take note of all you’ve been through and accomplished during the year, while also looking ahead at what you’d like to bring forward in the year ahead.

I love tarot and oracle card spreads and utilize them a lot when I’m going over my year and planning for the year ahead.

One of my favorite ways to utilize the cards is during business readings. I created this Spread to use to help me figure out all things Business. Where my Business was during the year, what it taught me and where it’s headed for the upcoming year.

I wanted to share this Spread with you!

1. What old thought patterns relating to my business should I leave behind?

2. What new business thought patterns should I focus on in the coming year?

3. What strengths of mine will I connect with in the new year?

4. What is a quality of mine to work on in the coming year?

5. What is a good direction to go towards with my business in the new year?

6. What does my business need more of?

7. What does my business need less of?

8. What did my business teach me this past year?

9. What will my business teach me in this new year?

Many blessings!

Daily Holistics | Product Review

I love supporting small shops and I love natural products. So when I got the chance to review some products from Daily Holistics, I was super excited.

Daily Holistics

Daily Holistics is owned and operated by Margareta Thorsen. She’s a certified reiki practitioner, yoga enthusiast, doTERRA wellness advocate and tarot card reader.

In her shop, Daily Holistics, she offers an assortment of natural skin and body products as well as custom essential oil blends. Her products are great and her prices reasonable.

I received three of her products to try out. A hand sanitizer, an energizing body spray and some lavender oatmeal soap.

Natural hand sanitizer

The hand sanitizer comes in a 3 ounce plastic bottle. A really generous amount! It’s 100% alcohol free and is made with aloe Vera gel which adds extra cleansing benefits, almond oil for moisturizing, and essential oils for sanitizing.

I really liked this! It was my first time trying a natural sanitizer gel and I was pleased. It is a bit of a different consistency than standard hand sanitizer, but I’m not complaining. At first when you rub it into your hands it feels a bit gooey and almost slightly sticky. But it dries and absorbs very quickly and then you’re left with perfectly soft and sanitized hands.

Traditional hand sanitizers are really rough on our skin and aren’t really the healthiest. So this natural option is a big win for me! Also, a little bit goes a long way! So one bottle should last you awhile.

Energizing body spray natural

The second product I was able to try was the energizing body spray. It contains water, witch hazel, lavender and grapefruit essential oils and comes in a 4 ounce glass spray bottle.

I loved using this spray first thing in the morning to help me wake up, or at other times during the day when I needed a bit of a pick me up. I would spritz it above my head and towards my face a bit, breathing in the lovely scent. It smells freaking delicious.

You could also use this spray as a room deodorizer or even spritz it on your bed. I also had it in my car and sprayed the interior. Made for a very pleasant drive.

Lavender oatmeal soap

Last but not least is the lavender oatmeal soap. This smells so good! It’s made with goats milk, lavender essential oil, dried lavender flowers and oatmeal.

It’s super moisturizing and cleansing. And it lathers up like a dream!

This soap felt super special to me, so I’ve been using it for special occasions. I feel like I pick up a lot of energy with my hands, so before I do any magickal workings or meditate, I like to cleanse my hands. And this soap has been absolutely perfect for this!

The lavender in it is cleansing to my energy and it’s also calming. Getting me in the right mindset for spiritual or magickal work.

If you’re looking for some beautifully handmade and natural products, I highly suggest checking out and supporting Margareta with Daily Holistics.

Many Blessings!
