End of Year Business Tarot Spread

I adore the end of the year! It’s such a great time to take note of all you’ve been through and accomplished during the year, while also looking ahead at what you’d like to bring forward in the year ahead.

I love tarot and oracle card spreads and utilize them a lot when I’m going over my year and planning for the year ahead.

One of my favorite ways to utilize the cards is during business readings. I created this Spread to use to help me figure out all things Business. Where my Business was during the year, what it taught me and where it’s headed for the upcoming year.

I wanted to share this Spread with you!

1. What old thought patterns relating to my business should I leave behind?

2. What new business thought patterns should I focus on in the coming year?

3. What strengths of mine will I connect with in the new year?

4. What is a quality of mine to work on in the coming year?

5. What is a good direction to go towards with my business in the new year?

6. What does my business need more of?

7. What does my business need less of?

8. What did my business teach me this past year?

9. What will my business teach me in this new year?

Many blessings!

Tarot & Oracle Cards…What’s the difference?

tarot-and-oracle-card-differences

I get asked frequently what the difference between tarot and oracle cards are. While there are some similarities, there are definite differences too. In this video I explain the key differences between tarot and oracle decks, how to store your decks, which decks you should start with and how you can continue your education on learning to read cards.

Self Love Tarot Spread

It’s currently February, which means you pretty much can’t go one day without hearing about love and romance. Which can be kind of annoying for some, even upsetting for others.

Regardless of your feelings on the commercialization of Valentines Day or your feelings on romance, February is definitely ripe with the energy of love.

I personally prefer to harness the energy of February with love for my family and friends, my community and also upping my Self Love Game.

And y’all know, using tarot and oracle cards are one of my favorite ways to help facilitate soul growth and healing. So I wanted to share with you a simple self love spread you can do for yourself. This spread will give you some insight into what you could focus on for optimum self love growth and healing.

Card One: What do I need to release from my life to make room for more self love?

Card Two: What is something I need more of in my life to help grow my love for myself?

Card Three: What is blocking me from truly loving myself?
Many blessings!

Birthday Tarot Spread and Ceremony

My birthday was a couple of days ago and I did a little ceremony and card reading for myself. I thought I would share it here with you to do on your own birthday!

Holding ceremony for yourself at important times of your life is important. It doesn’t have to be a lavish ceremony or anything. Just a little something special for you to mark the occasion.

Here is a small birthday ceremony and tarot spread you can try on your next birthday.

  • Light a white candle
  • Clear your aura and space with some sage or palo santo
  • Read your tarot cards (with the spread below or one of your choosing)
  • After the reading, jot down any thoughts or feelings that came up.
  • Sit in quiet meditation and review your year, the good and the not so good.
  • Come up with one thing you’re thankful for. Sit with this feeling for a bit.
  • Come up with one thing you’d like to release or leave behind in the coming year.
  • Write this down on a small piece of paper.
  • Practicing fire safety, burn this piece of paper and envision what you’re releasing being released within the smoke.

And that’s it! Maybe end your ceremony with a relaxing lavender bath and head to bed.

Here is the birthday Spread:

  • What was your main lesson from the previous year?
  • What lesson can you expect this coming year?
  • What birthday message does your younger self have for you?
  • What birthday message does your Spiritual Team have for you?
  • What is something you should focus on in the coming year?

I hope you enjoy your birthday reading and ceremony!

How To Use A Pendulum

img_2756

How to use a pendulum…Pendulums are an excellent tool! They actually aren’t as mystical and mysterious as you may think. There’s real science behind how pendulums work!

So how does a pendulum work exactly? Well, pendulums are a tool that you can use to connect to your intuition and subconscious mind. There is a term called “ideomotor response”. This is used a lot in hypnotherapy for the hypnotherapist to communicate directly with a clients subconscious, while the client is under hypnosis. Basically, while under hypnosis, your conscious mind is preoccupied or “asleep” in a sense. This leaves your subconscious mind more able to communicate. The hypnotherapist will ask the subconscious to show a sign for responses such as yes, no, I don’t know. The subconscious mind will send little nerve signals to the fingers and the fingers will give slight twitches in response to the questions being asked. In this state, the hypnotherapist can get answers from the clients subconscious mind that the conscious mind, or ego, may not be aware of.

Pendulums work in much the same way! When using a pendulum, you’re occupying your conscious mind with the task of holding the pendulum still. Even though your conscious mind is working hard to hold the pendulum still, you subconscious mind will be sending little nerve signals to your arm and hand in response to the questions being asked. Science! Pretty cool huh?

So in this way, you can use the tool of the pendulum to tap into the answers and knowledge you already have deep within you, even if your conscious mind isn’t aware of it. It’s quite literally a tool to connect to your intuition and subconscious mind.

Check out my video below for exactly how to use a pendulum and some effective situations to use it.

Halloween Tarot Spread

web

I’m so excited to be part of the Fall Tarot Blog Hop! I hope you enjoy my post! Please check the bottom of this post to find the next blog in the hop.

Whenever I think of fall, I immediately think of Halloween (or Samhain). The cool air, crispy fall leaves, pumpkins, spices, long nights and fires. As Halloween approaches, it’s the perfect time to introduce a Halloween themed tarot spread! The spread I created is meant for fun, but it’s also very in-depth as well. The position and question of each card is based on a popular Halloween symbol. For this spread I chose:

Bats
Jack ’o’ lanterns
Ghosts
Black cats
Skeletons

Now, most of us may be familiar with those symbols, but not everyone is familiar with why those are popular images associated with Halloween. Before I get into the spread, let’s talk a little about the origin of Halloween and the significance of each symbol.

bats

Halloween as we know it today has its roots in the Celtic celebration of Samhain (pronounced sah-win).  This was a celebration of the harvest as well as the nights getting longer and the days getting shorter. Some historians also say that the ancient Celts believed at this time, the veil between the living and the dead was at its thinnest and the spirits could roam the earth.

Many years later, the Catholic Church declared November first as All Saint’s Day (Day of the Dead in Mexican cultures) and October 31 as All Hallows Eve. This was a time to honor our deceased loved ones.

The history of Halloween has much more detail than what I’ve mentioned, but that’s a good summary of it. The present day Halloween is a mixture of lots of traditions and history.

So what about those symbols? Let’s talk about them!

Bats: During the Samhain celebrations, the Celts would have huge bonfires. Bonfires attract moths and bugs which in turn attract bats. Bats are nocturnal animals and are typically associated with night. Bats are also a symbol of intuition.

Jack ’o’ lanterns: The Irish used to put a candle inside a hollowed out turnip. They believed the light would ward off evil spirits. Once in the United States, pumpkins were switched out for turnips. The scary faces carved into the pumpkins adds to the idea of keeping away evil spirits.

Ghosts: This one only makes sense to include as Halloween is a holiday all about the thinning veil and connecting to spirits.

Black Cat: When the Catholic church tried to demonize old pagan traditions (like Samhain), they started hunting for witches. Basically, anyone who wasn’t following the church was deemed a witch. Cats were commonly thought to be a witches familiar, or even the witch themselves. So the connection of black cats to witches to Halloween occurred. Black itself is associated with night and the dark. Cats are known for being mysterious.

Skeletons: As Halloween is a holiday to honor those who have passed on, the skeleton is a physical reminder of the cycle of life and death. A reminder to let us know that when something ends, it’s making way for a new beginning.

Halloween: What message do my ancestors have for me?

Bats: How can I better connect to my intuition?

Jack ‘o’ lantern: What issue in my life do I need to shed light on?

Ghosts: What issue from my past am I ready let go of?

Black Cat: What mysterious side of myself should I embrace?

Skeleton: What in my life is ending to make way for something new?

Easy Daily Card Spread

It’s so important to start your day off on the right foot. Taking a moment for yourself, gathering your thoughts and focusing your energy. For me, this means enjoying a cup of coffee while I read my cards for the day.

I love connecting with my cards. They really help me to see different areas I need to be focusing on or working on. It helps me figure out the overall energy or lesson of the day. I do a simple three card spread. Check out the details below.

I personally like to use tarot cards for the first two cards and an oracle card for the third card. But this spread can work with all tarot or all oracle cards. Do what feels right for you. I also like to write down my cards and my interpretation each day in a journal. It’s nice to be able to go back and look at what you’ve written. Noticing any trends or whatnot.

1. Less of. This card shows you what you currently need less of in your life. Whether it’s a direction you’re headed, the energy you’re putting out, the thoughts or feelings you have or the people and energy in your life.

2. More of. This card shows you what you need more of. Whether it’s a direction you should be going, the energy to send out, the thoughts or feelings you have or the people and energy in your life.

3. Overall. This card is the overall energy of the day, what you should be focusing on or a lesson you should learning.

  • You could even do just a one card pull for the overall vibe or lesson of the day. I do this if I’m having a particularly busy morning.

As always, do what feels right to you. Tweak this spread to your liking. Always trust your intuition.

Ocean Themed Tarot Spread

I love the ocean and mermaids. My soul feels at home when near the sea. Sadly, I don’t live near the sea, so I created this tarot spread to help tap into those energies.

ocean-themed-tarot-spread-mermaid

The spread is three cards. And includes the following:

  • Buried Treasure: What strength or talent of yours is currently hidden in the sand?
  • Lighthouse: What will guide you to uncover your buried treasure?
  • What message does your inner mermaid have for you?

The Enchanted Tarot

The Enchanted Tarot deck has been around for quite awhile now. But it seems to be one of those decks that even though it’s been around for quite some time, not a ton of people know of it. Whenever I post a photo of one of the cards on my Instagram or Facebook pages, I get asked which deck it is. So I figured I would create a video and blog post all about the deck and how I personally use it, as I don’t use it for typical tarot reads. You can watch my video here.

The deck that I have and share with you here, is the original version of the deck. There are now a couple newer versions.

Head to Amazon to purchase the deck.

Many Blessings!
