Daily Holistics | Product Review

I love supporting small shops and I love natural products. So when I got the chance to review some products from Daily Holistics, I was super excited.

Daily Holistics

Daily Holistics is owned and operated by Margareta Thorsen. She’s a certified reiki practitioner, yoga enthusiast, doTERRA wellness advocate and tarot card reader.

In her shop, Daily Holistics, she offers an assortment of natural skin and body products as well as custom essential oil blends. Her products are great and her prices reasonable.

I received three of her products to try out. A hand sanitizer, an energizing body spray and some lavender oatmeal soap.

Natural hand sanitizer

The hand sanitizer comes in a 3 ounce plastic bottle. A really generous amount! It’s 100% alcohol free and is made with aloe Vera gel which adds extra cleansing benefits, almond oil for moisturizing, and essential oils for sanitizing.

I really liked this! It was my first time trying a natural sanitizer gel and I was pleased. It is a bit of a different consistency than standard hand sanitizer, but I’m not complaining. At first when you rub it into your hands it feels a bit gooey and almost slightly sticky. But it dries and absorbs very quickly and then you’re left with perfectly soft and sanitized hands.

Traditional hand sanitizers are really rough on our skin and aren’t really the healthiest. So this natural option is a big win for me! Also, a little bit goes a long way! So one bottle should last you awhile.

Energizing body spray natural

The second product I was able to try was the energizing body spray. It contains water, witch hazel, lavender and grapefruit essential oils and comes in a 4 ounce glass spray bottle.

I loved using this spray first thing in the morning to help me wake up, or at other times during the day when I needed a bit of a pick me up. I would spritz it above my head and towards my face a bit, breathing in the lovely scent. It smells freaking delicious.

You could also use this spray as a room deodorizer or even spritz it on your bed. I also had it in my car and sprayed the interior. Made for a very pleasant drive.

Lavender oatmeal soap

Last but not least is the lavender oatmeal soap. This smells so good! It’s made with goats milk, lavender essential oil, dried lavender flowers and oatmeal.

It’s super moisturizing and cleansing. And it lathers up like a dream!

This soap felt super special to me, so I’ve been using it for special occasions. I feel like I pick up a lot of energy with my hands, so before I do any magickal workings or meditate, I like to cleanse my hands. And this soap has been absolutely perfect for this!

The lavender in it is cleansing to my energy and it’s also calming. Getting me in the right mindset for spiritual or magickal work.

If you’re looking for some beautifully handmade and natural products, I highly suggest checking out and supporting Margareta with Daily Holistics.

DIY: All Natural Primer Water & Makeup Setting Spray

Looking for an easy DIY all natural makeup setting spray? I have the perfect solution! There are all kinds of recipes online to make your own primer water and setting spray. So I took what I liked from various recipes and came up with this one. And it can be tweaked too depending on your skin type!

So first, why use a primer or setting spray? Using a primer before you apply your makeup helps to create a flawless and smooth canvas to apply your makeup to. A primer helps fill in any fine lines and just makes your makeup go on smoother. A setting spray is used once you’ve applied all of your makeup. A setting spray helps to seal in your makeup, making sure it doesn’t go anywhere. And when you use a spray that has all sorts of amazing ingredients, it’s even treating your skin too! You can also use this spray to wet your brush to use with your eye shadow pigments to really make them pop!

The spray I made has four ingredients. Glycerin, witch hazel extract, Immortelle essential oil and purified water. I’ll explain why I chose each of these ingredients and their benefits, I’ll also give you the recipe that I used and how you can tweak it for your skin type.

-Helps lock in moisture on the skin
-Is an emollient which makes the skin soft and smooth
-Can help fade hyper-pigmentation and dark spots
-Helps make skin look glowing and youthful

If your skin is more dry, add a little more glycerin than witch hazel to your recipe.

Witch Hazel Extract:
I got my witch hazel extract (and cobalt bottle) from Apothecary Shoppe

I should note here that witch hazel extract is different than regular witch hazel. The extract is more concentrated and stronger than the regular witch hazel usually found in stores. If you’re using regular witch hazel for your recipe, add an extra tablespoon or two.

-Helps fade redness and skin irritation
-Helps control oil and excess sweating
-Can help prevent acne
-Helps to tighten skin and reduce puffiness

If your skin is more oily, add a little more witch hazel than glycerin.

Immortelle (or other essential oil):

Adding essential oils to your spray isn’t required. However, it does add yummy smells and added skin benefits (as well as emotional benefits too)!

-Is antibacterial
-Reduces redness and puffiness
-Fades scaring
-Promotes cell growth
-Is an antioxidant
-Anti-aging properties
-Is calming and can help relieve stress

Purified water:

This helps to mix all the ingredients together, adds moisture and acts as your base.

To Mix:

This is what I did to create my spray. I have combination skin, so I used equal amounts of witch hazel extract and glycerin. Tweak the ingredients and measurements to your needs.

-3 tablespoons of glycerin
-3 tablespoons of witch hazel extract (use 5 tablespoons if using regular witch hazel)
-3-5 drops of essential oil
-fill rest of bottle with purified water

I used a 4 ounce cobalt glass spray bottle for my spray. If you’re using essential oils, I suggest using glass bottles as some essential oils can eat away at plastic. Plus, glass is more sanitary than plastic anyway.

Mix the glycerin and witch hazel together until combined. Then add essential oil and fill up the rest of your bottle with purified water. And voila! You now have a natural and good for your skin primer water/setting spray!

I personally like to spray my face with the primer water, then apply my makeup, then seal it in with the spray. You could also use the primer water, then regular primer, makeup and setting spray. My skin and makeup has never looked more flawless!
