Selenite Properties


Selenite is such an amazing crystal with lots of great benefits and qualities. Selenite is a form of gypsum and it’s named after the Greek Moon goddess, Selene.

Selenite can help balance and cleanse our entire energy body. A great way to do this is to take a selenite wand (like one pictured above) and simply scan your body with it. Hold the crystal several inches from your body while you sort of sweep the air around you. I personally like to envision a white light emanating from the selenite and strengthening my aura.

You can do the selenite aura cleanse each morning, anytime you’ve been in a large group of people or whenever you feel a bit drained, energetically.

Selenite is a very cleansing and high vibrational crystal and is one of the few crystals that never need to be cleansed. In fact, selenite can be used to cleanse other crystals! Simply place your crystals needing to be cleansed or charged, next to the selenite for a bit. You could also do the energetic aura cleanse with your crystals. Just swipe the selenite around the crystal you want to cleanse.

I like to keep a small piece of selenite near my card decks as well, to keep them nice and cleansed. Similar to cleansing your aura and crystals, you can use selenite to cleanse your tarot and oracle decks as well.

Selenite is a very soft stone, so be careful not to get it wet. But since you don’t have to cleanse this crystal, there’s really not much of a reason to get it wet in the first place.

Physically, selenite is excellent for headaches and migraines! Lay down and place a piece of selenite near the top of your head. You may even like to place a piece of amethyst on your third eye. Lay there quietly with your eyes closed for about ten minutes. I suggest placing a grounding stone near your feet as well, such as smoky quartz or black tourmaline. And don’t lay there longer than ten minutes. As I mentioned, selenite is very high vibe and laying with it at your crown Chakra for an extended period of time can cause that Chakra to open too widely and may cause some dizziness for you.

Another physical benefit of selenite is for sore muscles. Since it’s so good at breaking up blocked energy, it can help loosen muscles. If you’re feeling sore or tight, just run the selenite over the area or let it sit on that area for a bit.

Rainbow Moonstone Properties

Rainbow Moonstone (also sometimes called White Labradorite) is an excellent meditative crystal. Here are some of its benefits and uses.

Rainbow Moonstone has a very feminine energy. You can use this crystal when looking to connect more to your divine feminine and balance your feminine energies. Men too can use this crystal to help them tap into that side of themselves more easily.

It helps you feel calm but powerful.

This crystal can help you enhance your intuition and psychic gifts, particularly clairvoyance.

It’s a fairly high vibrational stone that raises your energies but it’s also calming to the mind and can help you deepen your meditation.

It’s energy can help you become aware of areas in your life, body and spirit that could use some healing and attention.

Use with your sacral, third eye and crown chakras.

Physically, Moonstone can help balance females hormones, balance menstrual cycles and boost fertility. Could also be helpful for working with the womb and endometriosis.

7 Ways To Beat The Winter Blues Naturally

Winter. It sucks. With the cold temperatures, snow and gray skies, it’s easy to see why lots of people suffer from a major case of the Winter Blues. Myself included.

But there are some ways to conquer these blah feelings! I’ve compiled a list of seven of my personal tried and true methods to beat the winter blues.

1. Crystals

Crystals are great to help uplift your mood. They work both as a form of color therapy and their energy frequencies can help boost your mood. You can meditate with the crystals, carry them with you, set them around your home where you can see them. So many ways to use them.  Some of the best crystals for the winter blues are:

  • Orange calcite
  • Citrine
  • Carnelian
  • Red jasper
  • Selenite
  • Sunstone

2. Essential Oils

Essential oils are a must have for your arsenal of winter blues busting tools. Really, essential oils should be in your arsenal for life in general. Essential oils are some of the best and easiest ways to boost your mood. Put some in a diffuser, apply some topically or even smell it straight from the bottle.

Some of my favorites are:

  • Grapefruit
  • Bergamot
  • Lemon
  • Frankincense

3. Lights and lamps

There are two types of lights for this category. The first would be a Light Box Therapy Light. These lights are supposed to mimic the suns natural light. Our bodies need sunlight to function properly. Part of the reason so many people feel down in the winter is due to the lack of sun. These lights help boost your vitamin D and other good stuff. You can find these lamps at stores like Walmart, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Target, etc. Make sure you’re getting a light therapy light though, otherwise it may not actually do much for you.

Another type of light to get is a Himalayan Salt Lamp. These are excellent for so many things. They emit negative ions into the air. Negative ions are responsible for the “feel good” energy around us. Negative ions are found naturally in places like the woods, beach, waterfalls. These salt lamps are a great way to boost these ions in your living space. These lights can be found on Amazon, Home Depot, etc.

4. Exercise

When it’s cold and disgusting outside, we tend to hole up inside. Snuggled on the couch and staying warm and cozy. This also means that we are probably a lot less active than we are in the warmer months. Making sure to include some form of regular exercise into your day can really help you beat the blues. Exercise and body movement help to release endorphins and make you feel great. Try some easy indoor exercise like yoga. Even doing some sets of planks and crunches each day can be beneficial.

5. Diet

There are lots of holidays and festivities within the winter months. Which usually means lots of food and eating. It’s easy to consume lots of sugary and fried foods this time of year. It’s ok to indulge in some goodness every once in awhile. But try to increase the good foods. Make sure you’re getting enough fruits and veggies in your diet each day. Even increasing your intake of fruits and veggies can be helpful.

6. Outside

Ugh. I know. It’s COLD outside. But getting outside frequently, even when it’s cold, is really good for you. If you can, try to get outside for 10-15 minutes at least. Especially on sunny days. You’ll get the benefit of the sun plus the fresh air. Both of which can really boost your mood. Combining number 4 (exercise) with the outdoors is even better! Go for a short walk each day if you can.

7. Meditation

Having a regular meditation practice is really great for your whole being. Especially during these winter months. Meditation helps to decrease your stress, tension and anxiety and in turn will help boost your mood.


Want to really kick the winter blues away? Go nuts and combine as many of these suggestions as you can!

Go for a short walk outside then come in and meditate. Make sure you have your salt lamp and light box on, with some oils in the diffuser and crystals in your hand. Once done meditating, make sure to refuel with a healthy snack. Woohoo!

Crystal Cleansing Made Easy

How can you cleanse your crystals?

After you’ve used your crystals, whether for healing or spell work, it’s a good idea to cleanse and clear them. A super easy way to do this, and one of my favorites, is to place the crystals in salt. Pictured here, is Himalayan salt, one of my favs. Really for no other reason than it’s the color pink haha. 💕And I like its energy. It has a very calm but powerful energy. Any salt will do though. Salt is purifying, cleansing and grounding. Placing your stones in the salt will cleanse the crystals of any stored energy they may have picked up.

 🐚I like to place mine in a sea shell because I like the cleansing (water) energy of it, plus it comes from salt water (added cleansing oomph). But you can place it in a dish or bowl.  I usually leave the crystals in the salt for 24 hours. ⭐️This is just one of many ways to cleanse your crystals. Want to learn even more? How To Use A Pendulum


How to use a pendulum…Pendulums are an excellent tool! They actually aren’t as mystical and mysterious as you may think. There’s real science behind how pendulums work!

So how does a pendulum work exactly? Well, pendulums are a tool that you can use to connect to your intuition and subconscious mind. There is a term called “ideomotor response”. This is used a lot in hypnotherapy for the hypnotherapist to communicate directly with a clients subconscious, while the client is under hypnosis. Basically, while under hypnosis, your conscious mind is preoccupied or “asleep” in a sense. This leaves your subconscious mind more able to communicate. The hypnotherapist will ask the subconscious to show a sign for responses such as yes, no, I don’t know. The subconscious mind will send little nerve signals to the fingers and the fingers will give slight twitches in response to the questions being asked. In this state, the hypnotherapist can get answers from the clients subconscious mind that the conscious mind, or ego, may not be aware of.

Pendulums work in much the same way! When using a pendulum, you’re occupying your conscious mind with the task of holding the pendulum still. Even though your conscious mind is working hard to hold the pendulum still, you subconscious mind will be sending little nerve signals to your arm and hand in response to the questions being asked. Science! Pretty cool huh?

So in this way, you can use the tool of the pendulum to tap into the answers and knowledge you already have deep within you, even if your conscious mind isn’t aware of it. It’s quite literally a tool to connect to your intuition and subconscious mind.

All About Spiritual Dreams


How to effectively start a dream journal, how to remember more of your dreams, how to interpret your dreams, psychic dreams vs normal dreams, tools to help your dreaming and more!



♥What exactly are dreams?

 We all dream. Whether you remember it or not, you still had a dream. So what exactly are dreams? Some people think that dreams are just our brains way of figuring out and sorting through the many thoughts that our brains have during the day. When we’re awake, it’s simply too much for our brains to process everything it’s taking in, so it does this processing when we sleep. While this is one scenario, I feel there are others to look at as well.

Another theory is that dreams are the way our subconscious mind works through things that our conscious mind tries to block out when awake. These may be yucky emotions or events that you don’t want to deal with, so you’ve pushed them to the back of your mind. Your brains wants to deal with these thoughts and feelings, it wants to process, so it does it at night while the conscious mind is asleep.

Dreams could also be a way for us to receive messages from our Higher Self, angels, spirits, etc. During the day our brains may be too busy to hear these messages, so we only get the messages to come through at night. It could also be that our conscious is too nervous or closed to let these messages in when awake, so it isn’t until our “guard” is down that we can take these messages in. During these dreams we may also receive visits from those who have passed on, our angels or our spirit guides.

Finally, and sort of connected to the previous theory, is that dreams are a way for us to tap into our psychic energies or other planes of existence. When this happens we may have visions of future events, past lives or events occurring on the other side of the earth.

I personally think that all of the above theories are correct. I believe we have many different types of dreams and each dream could fit into one of the above categories.



♥How can you tell if you’re having a visitation dream, a psychic dream or a normal dream?

 The simple answer? The dream feels different. The more you start to pay attention to your dreams and journal about it, the more you’ll be able to tell the difference. I’ve always been a vivid dreamer and tried to pay attention to my dreams. I can now, more often than not, tell the difference between my dream types. I can tell when I’ve had a normal “processing” dream, a visitation dream, a message dream or a psychic dream. I wish there was an exact answer I could give for this, but the reality is, it just feels different. When you have a visitation dream for instance, you will just know with your whole being, that it was a real visitation.

I would like to note here that just because you have a dream with a deceased loved one in it, doesn’t automatically mean it’s a visitation dream. Sometimes our passed on loved ones simply play a sort of character in the movie that is our dream. Sometimes you may just be reliving a memory. Again, if it’s a true visitation dream, you will feel it. You will know.


♥How can you easily begin to dream journal?

 Dream journaling doesn’t have to be an overwhelming thing. I’ve heard many people say they can’t dream journal because they hardly remember their dreams or maybe they don’t remember it at all. I’ve even heard people say they can’t dream journal because their dreams are too detailed and journaling would be overwhelming or too much work. I just want to say that anyone can successfully dream journal. Here are some tips on how to make the most of dream journaling.


  • Place a notebook and pen next to your bed. You will want to write in your journal as soon as you wake up. Typically, the longer we’re awake, the less details we remember of our dreams. Even if you wake up in the middle of the night, try to jot down a few things into your journal.
  • Don’t feel like you have to write a novel in order to successfully dream journal! In fact, I’ve found the best success with writing less but focusing on the key elements. Plus, who really has time each morning to devote to writing pages of dreams? Of course, if you want to write an extensive amount on your dream, then go for it! Listen to your intuition and do what feels best for you.
  • When you go to write in your journal, focus on the things that stand out to you in your dream. Jot down any symbols, colors, smells, feelings, thoughts, etc. that stand out to you. For example, for a dream I had recently, I wrote down:


  1. Black bear
  2. Forest
  3. Nostalgia
  4. Dog
  5. Friend
  6. Running
  7. Relief


Writing down key elements of your dream gives you something to go off of if you decide to interpret your dreams. Typically, the things that stand out to us in our dreams are the things we should be focusing on anyway. These are the things that have a special meaning, message or purpose.



♥How can you interpret your dreams?

 Ok, so remember those key dream elements that you wrote down? Those things that really seemed to stick out for you? Those will be the things you try to interpret. I personally suggest you take a moment to think of how each of those elements makes you feel. What do each of those things mean to you? Everyone is different and not everyone will have the same feelings towards something as you do. That’s why it’s important to relate your dreams and their symbols to you. Doing this will also help you tap more into your intuition.


There are many archetypes though. Symbols and characters that just seem to be ingrained in all of our psyches. This is where dream books or dream dictionaries can come in handy. There is an app called Dream Moods that I have that is pretty fantastic, in my opinion. I have an iPhone so I’m not sure if it’s available on android. If you use an app or a dictionary, you would just look up the word for one of your key elements and go from there.

I really suggest taking a moment to think about what each dream element means to you personally before looking it up in a dream dictionary.


Once you have what each key element means, you can go back and do more extensive journaling if you so desire.



♥Are there any tools to help with dreaming and how would you use them?

 There are many fun and easy tools to use to help you with dreaming! Essential oils and crystals are one of my favorite ways to help with dreaming.


Before using any oils please check with your doctor for any health restrictions. I’m not a medical doctor.

Essential Oils:


  • Sandalwood, rose and lavender are excellent at helping you relax so you can fall asleep more easily. Let’s face it, the first step to dreaming is to fall asleep 😉
  • Patchouli is good for getting into a meditative state to help you connect spiritually and can also help with lucid dreaming
  • Mugwort helps you to have more lucid dreaming (If you are pregnant, please check with your doctor before using mugwort)
  • Lavender can help you have vivid dreams
  • Frankincense can help you connect to the spiritual side while also helping you to have clear and vivid dreams
  • Rosemary can help you to not have bad dreams

How to use the oils:

Put some in a diffuser in your bedroom.
Open the bottle and take a few whiffs of the aroma.
Put a couple of drops of oil into a warm bath prior to bed.
Apply some topically (diluted if needed).



  • Clear quartz helps you have clear dreams and to recall them easier
  • Amethyst helps you to have psychic dreams while also aiding you in recalling your dreams
  • Herkimer diamonds (which are a form of quartz) help you to receive messages from spirit, angels or your higher self. Herkimer diamonds are known as the ultimate crystal for dream work.

How to use the crystals:

Easiest way to use crystals for sleep or dreaming is to sleep with the crystal under your pillow or next to your bed. You can even meditate with the crystal prior to falling asleep.
